Hleb Burnashev

Gleb Burnashev is an artist from Minsk who creates works on sharp social themes. His art has been strongly influenced by episodes of domestic violence in his family, his parents' emigration, and recent political events in Belarus. In his projects, he often allows the viewer to enter quite a personal territory, allowing them to see through "his eyes."

Starting his artistic journey with documentary and artistic photography, Gleb eventually began using photography as a tool to create more refined art forms, such as performance.

His work as a set designer, producer, and prop master in the film industry also had a significant impact on him. It allowed him to learn teamwork and how to utilize space, urban environments, lighting, and various materials. As a result, it became clear how to execute ideas technically, and his thinking became more project-oriented.
