Dasha Brian

I am a director and video artist from Belarus. For several years, I have been working as a theater and film director. Currently, I mainly work as a director of experimental narrative films and as a video artist. In my works, I often explore the theme of sexuality, aiming to detach the "body" from its societal context and present it merely as a "canvas". I also frequently engage with the political agenda of Belarus and Ukraine. I believe that every artistic project is a kind of cultural manifesto, reflecting in one way or another its perspective on the world, politics, and events around it. Additionally, I have training in acting. I write film scripts, and when people ask me who I am, I like to respond that I am more than just one word.
